Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Fellows
The Franks Lab is always looking for talented and motivated students and postdocs to join our team. We are especially interested in individuals with experience in the investigation of neural circuits using combinations of electrophysiological (either in vitro and in vivo), optical imaging, behavioral and computational approaches, however all enthusiastic, curious and ambitious candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
We are seeking a full-time research technician to help with research into the neural circuits underlying olfaction and olfactory-guided behavior. This is a great opportunity for motivated recent graduates who want hands-on neuroscience research experience and mentorship before applying to graduate or medical school.
Duties for the position may include running behavioral experiments, animal surgery, immunohistochemistry, confocal imaging, mouse colony management, and extensive data analysis along with presentation. Candidates with a strong interest or experience in MATLAB programming and higher-level statistics are especially encouraged to apply. Training will be provided, but the work requires substantial self-motivation and independent problem-solving ability.
Undergraduate research opportunities, The Franks Lab
We enthusiastically support and mentor Duke undergraduates, especially work-study students, who wish to gain experience working in a fast-paced and cutting-edge research lab before going on to graduate or professional school.
Interested candidates should send their resume/CV and the names and contact information of 2-3 references to firstname.lastname@example.org.
